Rooster Hill visits Millburger's Pig Farm
When we switched from shavings to hay for our chicken's nest we had a chance to go and see a pig farm. The farmer was so generous he also gave us two antique chicken feeders one for chicks and one for grown birds. They have both been bleached and the one for the chicks is already in use.You have to be really careful when you bring anything from someone elses place to make sure you do not infect your animals with any parasites or bacteria that are present at the other farm.
But let me tell you those little piglets will steal your heart and the thought of fresh hams and bacon will steal your tummy! Maybe we'll get a couple of Southern heritage pigs in the next couple of years! After, we get a good fence up & ban the kids from watching Charlotte's web!
